The authors reviewed the recent progress on the DNA sequencing techniques that could be applied to ancient DNA research. These include the massively parallel sequencing technologies:
FLX (Roche)
Solexa (Illumina)
SOLiD (Applied Biosystems)
HeliScope (Helicos BioSciences)

雖然這些方法都很貴，但是將來的研究結果應該都會很有趣，也許許多滅絕生物真的就會被重新弄活過來。
另外台灣已經有些地方已經買了Solexa，像中研院，成大，中興，只是能不能做這些有趣又神奇的研究就難說了。
